I love compact mechanical tube mods, and this one wins the size competition. One thing that still amazes me in the vaping community is the lack of details by some suppliers. I keep trying to get an official height on this mod, but no one has taken the time to just measure one and post it, that I can find. This might be the mod to make you question hybrid atomizers. The top cap on this beauty is solid brass and acts more like an atomizer adapter than a top cap.

Technically excellent

The most impressive part of this mod is the top cap. This is a new design that threads right around the battery and connects any atomizer to the battery, much like a hybrid mod/atomizer does now. With such a new approach come a few negligible drawbacks. A button top battery is pretty much required. Sure you might be able to get it to work with some workaround, but I wouldn’t recommend it. If you do have the right atomizers, and the right batteries, this mod might be a game changer in top caps.

The rare and elusive new mech

I haven’t even mentioned that this mod has a magnetic switch yet. Well it’s also got a strikingly familiar look to the ihybrid pure. The tubing has a seamless 1 piece appearance, that is 18650 mode in the image above. I’ve seen a stainless steel cap for this mod as well as the brass 510 adapter on this mod.

Bagua 14500 Clone $17.57

I’m hoping more of these mods start to be released. So far this is the most popular low cost 14500 mechanical mod I’ve seen. For less than $20 you can shrink down the size of your mods to something more resembling an Ego. This mod is 17mm wide and goes best with a mini (slim) atomizer, the Taifun GS is the only rebuildable pressurized atomizer that has been cloned in this size. I’ve seen photos of the Kayfun 2.1 clone floating around and hopefully that hits stores sometime soon, I think the Svoe Mesto original is a bit too expensive for what I would use as a novelty.

The details are a little foggy around this mod. I see one site saying it comes with a magnetic switch. From the pictures the pin looks brass and adjustable. There’s proper battery ventilation and did I mention that it is small?

Symbols guarantee good fortune

14500 mods can be dangerous. The batteries do not handle as much output as other batteries. I would suggest an IMR battery and making sure the coil is at least 1.2 ohms. In addition to having a lower max discharge, 14500 batteries also have lower capacity. Most 14500 IMR batteries I have come across are 600 mah. A setup with this mod is a great example of form over function.

The Brass Caravela Clone $21.71!

I’ve covered this clone many times before. It is the clone of the amazing Caravela mod. This particular model looks to be of better quality than some of the other options available. Maybe this is the HCigar Version?

This may not be the most complex or sophisticated clone out there, but I had to order one for myself. I have the stainless version on the way, and what better way to compliment it than getting all 3 tube sizes in both finishes.

Looks real to me…

There’s not much else to say. It is a Caravela clone. I don’t expect it to be better than my Nemesis clone, but I hope it is close. Having 3 solid tubes definitely makes me want to use this mod in 18650. There is something about the styling of the Caravela that makes it stand out and it isn’t the boat. Either way, it looks great and I can’t wait to see mine.

Personally I prefer an adjustable (silver) center pin to a brass floating one. From what I’ve seen elsewhere the original Origin Mod by UVO Systems features an adjustable brass center pin. Lets hope this is the same.

Anyone who knows high end mechanical mods knows the Poldiac. The Poldiac in many people’s minds is the premiere mechanical mod. This clone is tooted to be a 1:1 to the original which means it would carry all the great features:

Edit: I couldn’t resist. I went ahead and ordered one and will be doing an in depth review of the clone and its differences to its counterpart when I receive it. I have 2 MM Poldiacs available to me for comparison.

Personally I am not a fan of 18500 mods. We all remember the waves of “Bagua” clone mods that rolled out in drones the past couple of months. I love the design of the Atomo mod; from the magnetic switch, proper venting, adjustable insulated center pin, and 510 only connector. While I’ve been patiently waiting to get my hands on one of these, I am sick of 18500 mods. I’ll hold out for the next version with more tube sizes, but if you got $15.52 you can jump on the first one. I’ve seen these clones go for over $50 on some sites.
